Quote from Brigid Brophy

Whenever people say “We mustn’t be sentimental,” you can take it they are about to do something cruel. And if they add “We must be realistic,” they mean they are going to make money out of it.
—Brigid Brophy (1929–1995)

  1. YES! It is taken as an ulterior message to be practical and sensible in the so called 'real world' To not be 'sentimental or to be 'realistic' does NOT mean to be indifferent or to close the mind, or give up contemplating the subject, but to hold a balance on the given issues! apply more effort of thought and feeling, thus being even more conscious and awake!
